    Grace Fabry Shines at OHSAA State Gymnastics Championship

    Senior Grace Fabry placed in three events, highlighted by a runner-up finish on the balance beam, at the OHSAA State Gymnastics Championship held at Hilliard Bradley High School on Saturday, March 3.

    In the balance beam, Fabry shared the podium spot with Emily Huffman from Brecksville-Broadview Heights after the two tied with a score of 9.350.   • WJ Wraps Up NCL Title With 43-32 Win Over Archbishop Hoban

    The Walsh Jesuit women's basketball team wrapped up the North Coast League title at Archbishop Hoban by beating the host Knights 43-32 on Wednesday, February 14.

    The Warriors, 14-7 overall, wrapped up the title with a 9-1 league mark, besting defensding champion Hoban, who finished 8-2.

  • Warriors Finish Third at OHSAA Division I Sectional Meet

    Senior Richie Kurlich, sophomore Kaden Smesko swim to sectional titles

    The Walsh Jesuit men’s swimming team finished third of 14 teams at the OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament held at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium on Saturday, February 10. This is the first qualifying meet on the road to the State Championship Meet to be held in Canton on February 21 through 24.

    Senior Richie Kurlich and sophomore Kaden Smesko each notched sectional titles to lead 10 total Warriors into next weekend's District Meet. Kurlich finished first in the 200 yard individual medley (1:53.67) and 100 yard breaststroke (56.88), while Smesko won the 100 yard backstroke (51.77). Kurlich’s time in the breaststroke broke the Walsh school record of 57.35 that was set in 2010. In addition, the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Kurlich, Smesko, Andrew Kurlich and Adam Lenz also set a new Walsh school record of 3:13.25 while finishing second. The old record of 3:13.35 was set in 2009.

    The Warrior women’s swimming team topped nine league rivals to once again win the North Coast League Championship Meet to continue its domination of the annual event. The women outscored runner-up Archbishop Hoban 122-102 to take the title which was held on February 3 at Gilmour Academy

  • Walsh Jesuit Mock Trial Team Advances to Regionals

    Walsh Jesuit’s Mock Trial team was presented with a case at the start of the school year from the OCLRE organization in Columbus. They were given three months to read, analyze, and formulate arguments for the Prosecution and Defense. The case this year was based on the Serial podcast. Two lawyers, two witnesses, and a bailiff are needed for each side.
